Proposal Engineer

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Proposal Engineer with a strong background in the water treatment industry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical and commercial proposals for water and wastewater treatment projects,
including Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, water recovery technologies, and other related solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of water treatment processes, project management, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Proposal Development:
▪ Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for water treatment projects, including those related to wastewater treatment, water recovery, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems.
▪ Analyze client requirements, specifications, and tender documents to develop tailored solutions.
▪ Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project management teams to gather necessary information for proposal creation.
▪ Develop cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments for proposed projects.
• Technical Writing and Documentation:
▪ Create clear, concise, and compelling proposal documents that effectively communicate the benefits and value of our solutions.
▪ Ensure that all technical aspects of the proposal are accurate and align with client requirements and company capabilities.
• Cost Estimation:
▪ Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material, equipment, manpower, and other project-related expenses.
▪ Work with procurement team to obtain accurate pricing and lead time information.
▪ Optimize project costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance:
▪ Ensure that all proposals comply with client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
▪ Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all proposal documents.
▪ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes that may impact proposal strategy.
• Project Management Support:
▪ Assist the project management team in transitioning from proposal to project execution, ensuring a smooth handover of all relevant documentation and information.
▪ Support project managers in tracking project progress and addressing any technical issues that arise during execution.
• Templatization & Upgradation:
▪ Review and analyze feedback from previous proposals to identify areas for improvement in future submissions.
▪ Develop and maintain proposal templates, tools, and databases to streamline the proposal process.
▪ Stay updated on new technologies, products, and services in the water treatment industry to enhance proposal quality and innovation.
Qualifications
Education:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
▪ 3 to 5 years of experience in writing the techno-commercial proposals, preferably within the water treatment industry.
▪ Proven track record of developing successful proposals for water treatment projects.
Skills:
▪ Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes (including WTP, ETP, STP and desalination), equipment, and systems.
▪ Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
▪ Good knowledge of MS word, Excel and PowerPoint.
▪ Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop accurate cost estimates and schedules.
▪ Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
