Job Overview:
The Plant Operator/ Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining the pilot plant and full-scale water treatment plants. The role also involves providing assistance in operating the table-top model. The Plant Technician will play a critical role in maintaining optimal plant performance, ensuring water quality, and supporting training. He will be also responsible for assisting for tabletop equipment operations, maintenance and demonstrations as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
• Operation & Monitoring:
▪ Ensure smooth operations of the pilot plant and full scale plant within set parameters.
▪ Assist in running the table-top water treatment models for demonstration and training purposes.
▪ Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of the plant. Identify, troubleshoot, and repair basic mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues within the plant
• Assistance & Training:
▪ Support team members in the operation and troubleshooting of table-top model, and pilot plant.
▪ Assist in the training of new operators and customers using the table-top model and pilot plants for educational and demonstration purposes.
• Quality Control:
▪ Collect and analyze water samples to ensure that treatment processes meet regulatory and quality standards. Respond to and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.
▪ Maintain accurate records of water quality data, operational logs, and maintenance activities.
• Health, Safety & Environment Compliance:
▪ Adhere to all safety, health and environmental protocols and ensure compliance with local and national regulations related to water treatment and plant operations.
• Reporting & Documentation:
▪ Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports on plant operations, maintenance activities, and water quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
▪ Diploma in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
▪ Minimum of 3 years of experience in water treatment plant operations, including hands-on experience with both large-scale plants and smaller demonstration models.
Technical Skills:
▪ Knowledge of water treatment processes, including filtration, chemical dosing, and sludge management.
▪ Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
▪ Familiarity with SCADA systems and other plant control systems.
Communication Skills:
▪ Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to assist in training and demonstrations.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality control, safety, and operational efficiency.
